Enrollment Process for New Families
STEP 1
GET TO KNOW US
We are so glad you’re here! We recommend that parents first familiarize themselves with our website, submit an admissions inquiry (click here or email [email protected]), and then come visit our school to gain insight into our philosophy, mission, vision, and values. Each parent must agree with and affirm the doctrine, philosophy, and methodology upheld by Colorado Classical School (CCS). Key elements of classical and Protestant Christianity, as outlined in our Statement of Faith, will be taught across all grade levels and subject disciplines. Families who choose CCS for their children are expected to uphold the school’s philosophy, policies, and curriculum.
For families interested in applying to transfer to CCS for the current school year, please email us at [email protected] to schedule a tour. For families interested in applying for the 2025-2026 school year, we encourage you to attend one of our upcoming Open Houses.
Parents seeking to enroll their child(ren) after the beginning of the school year should be aware that the admissions process takes a minimum of two weeks. A child may not attend classes until the admission process is fully completed. Students wishing to enroll after the school year begins may do so September through November in the first semester and in the month of January in the second semester. Once into February, we ask transferring students to wait to join their respective CCS classes until the next academic year as we feel it is most beneficial to the incoming student and family. Please note that incoming kindergarten students must be 5 years old by October 1st.
STEP 2
APPLY ONLINE
After you submit an admission inquiry (see step above), we will be able to send you an application electronically.
STEP 3
Submit academic records, references, and the application fee
Please submit your child’s academic records for the previous two academic years (if applicable) through SchoolCues. These records should include report cards, standardized test results, attendance records, any behavioral or disciplinary documentation, and any test results for learning disabilities, speech therapy, occupational therapy, etc. For families transferring from a homeschool setting, kindly provide a summary of coursework along with any standardized test results.
Additionally, all families are asked to submit two references: one from a pastor, elder, or other leader at your church and one from an academic reference.
Finally, we ask that each family submit a non-refundable fee of $150 per application. If any of our application fees, deposits, or tuition present a hardship to your family, please reach out to our Admissions Committee at [email protected] to discuss the possibility of an alternative arrangement. Financial assistance will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
STEP 4
Schedule a family interview and placement test
Upon receipt of your complete application, records, references, and application fee, the admissions office will reach out to schedule a family interview. We encourage the presence of both parents and your student(s) for the interview.
Following your family interview, should all parties agree to move forward with the application process, the admissions office will reach out to schedule a placement test for each applicant.
STEP 5
Notification of Admittance
Once all preceding steps have been completed, the CCS Admissions Committee will make an admissions decision and will notify families via email. Should the number of applicants exceed available seats in a given class, approved applicants will be placed on a waitlist.
The Admissions Committee will make a decision based on the parents’ understanding and agreement with CCS’s mission and policies, the child’s ability to benefit from our educational program, and the availability of a spot in the child’s class.
CCS reserves the right to place students in the appropriate instructional level as determined by the school in its sole discretion. Such determinations will typically, but not necessarily, be based on test data, developmental maturity, teacher discretion, and the ability of the student to handle academic or classroom requirements.
The school reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to refuse admission or discontinue enrollment if it is determined that a student’s lifestyle—or that of the student’s parent(s) or guardian(s)—conflicts with the school’s moral principles to a degree that would hinder effective collaboration in the child’s education. The school may also deny enrollment if it is deemed not to be in the best interest of the school, the family, or the child.
STEP 6
Sign your enrollment agreement, pay your tuition deposit, and complete your SchoolCues forms
If a seat is available for your child we kindly request that parents sign an enrollment contract and submit a non-refundable tuition deposit of $500 per student, which confirms your child’s place in his/her class.
Colorado Classical School does not discriminate in its admission policies based on race, national or ethnic origin, or sex. Families that are delinquent in payment of tuition to CCS or who have outstanding balances at another private school are not eligible for enrollment or re-enrollment at CCS.
